The Climate Governance Commission and Plataforma CIPÓ propose a rebalancing of the climate issue in the security nexus of the United Nations. The proposers are wary about granting further authority to the Security Council on climate security issues due to the unrepresentative nature of the Security Council. Rather, they suggest an enhancement of the UN Climate Security Mechanism and the integration of climate security issues across the spectrum of UN bodies.
