Acute injustices within and between countries risk undermining global stability and collective progress.
This third edition of the "Future of International Cooperation Report" (FIC’25) focuses on how institutions and the practice of governance — operating at global and regional levels — can contribute to more just societies by protecting human rights, fostering inclusion, and leveraging innovation to bridge long-standing divisions.
With a fresh analytical lens, and presenting foundational principles for effective global and regional governance, the report assesses the major challenges, threats, and opportunities for “justice in action” to be found in reforming political-judicial institutions, filling socioeconomic justice gaps, and advancing environmental justice.
The Report includes consideration of multilateral processes in which its recommendations can be advanced, including the 2025 World Social Summit in Doha and the follow-up process for the Pact for the Future.
